Our hygienists are a great asset, managing the health of your mouth and allowing us to provide you with dedicated treatment for the most prevalent of oral conditions – periodontal (gum) disease.
Hygienists are the cornerstone of preventive care because good oral hygiene is fundamental to overall oral health and the functional efficiency of your mouth. Treatment is provided in conjunction with your usual general dental practitioner or a referring specialist. This can either be within the NHS or on a private basis.
The treatment plans followed by the hygienists are decided by the referring dentist and will be tailored to each patient’s individual needs, ensuring you get the most appropriate treatment for your particular problem.
The hygienists at the Houston Group of practices are also trained in the maintenance of dental implant restorations and have the specialist tools required to clean around implants. We offer a care package for all our implant patients, so they can be reassured they are receiving the very best postoperative care.
Payment for treatment with our hygienists can be on a fee-per-item basis or, for patients who decide to take out one of the Houston Care Plans, there is the option of having up to four hygiene visits a year, which is included within the plan fees.
